A citizen of Nigeria was detained while attempting to illegally cross the state border from Azerbaijan into Georgia.
This was reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
According to the official statement, the incident occurred within the service area of the "Zagatala" border detachment. As a result of operational measures conducted by the Border Troops, a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Olabiyi Kazeem Adisa (born in 1995), was apprehended while attempting to violate the state border in the direction of Georgia.
Operational and investigative measures regarding the incident are currently ongoing.
The State Border Service of Azerbaijan regularly conducts enhanced security operations along the country's borders to prevent illegal migration and cross-border criminal activities. These measures are part of the broader national strategy to ensure border integrity and national security, particularly in mountainous and forested border regions like Zagatala, which shares a border with Georgia.
