Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to hold a telephone conversation with Lebanese President Michel Aoun to discuss bilateral relations, according to a statement from Gila Gamliel, a member of the Israeli Knesset representing the Likud party.

The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Ynet, reports that Gamliel shared this information during a broadcast on the Galei Zahal radio station. "I hope this step will lead to the development of relations with Lebanon. This is a process that has been forming over a long period of time," Gamliel noted during the interview.

Diplomatic interactions between Israel and Lebanon are historically significant given the complex geopolitical landscape of the Middle East. While the two nations remain technically in a state of conflict, recent years have seen increased international mediation efforts, particularly regarding maritime borders and regional security. Such high-level communication is often viewed by analysts as a critical step toward de-escalation and the potential stabilization of the border regions between the two Mediterranean neighbors.
