The State Examination Center (SEC) conducted test exams on May 19 for taxi drivers who completed special training across several cities in Azerbaijan, including Baku, Nakhchivan, Ganja, and Barda.

The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the SEC that 1,608 individuals registered for the assessment, with 1,544 candidates participating in the session. According to the final results, 1,297 candidates successfully met the required criteria to pass the examination.

The electronic exams provided candidates with the necessary conditions to demonstrate their proficiency. Participants were able to view their results immediately upon completion or when the allotted time expired. The comprehensive results have also been published on the official website of the State Examination Center.

The assessment featured 20 test questions covering ethical behavior and the legal regulatory framework for passenger transportation, as established by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. Candidates who scored 10 or more points are considered to have passed and will be issued a professional certificate valid for seven years. Further information regarding the distribution dates of these certificates will be provided in due course.

To ensure transparency, an Appeals Commission will operate at the main administrative building of the State Examination Center in Baku (299 Academic Hasan Aliyev Street, Nasimi district) on May 20-21, from 14:00 to 17:00.

These examinations are part of a broader initiative in Azerbaijan to modernize the public transport sector and enhance service quality. By implementing mandatory certification and ethical training, the government aims to standardize taxi services and ensure passenger safety in accordance with international transport norms. This move follows recent legislative updates in Azerbaijan designed to regulate the taxi market and improve the professional qualifications of drivers operating in the capital and regional centers.
