Napoli set to extend contract with Antonio Vergara

Napoli is preparing to sign a new long-term contract with young midfielder Antonio Vergara.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing renowned insider Nicolo Schira, negotiations between the parties have reached their final stage. It is expected that the 23-year-old footballer will sign a new deal running until 2034 in the coming days.

Reports indicate that the new contract includes a significant salary increase for Vergara. The Napoli management has reportedly decided to retain the player, having previously rejected offers worth approximately 30 million euros from other clubs for his transfer.

Antonio Vergara has been a key figure for the squad in the 2025/26 season, participating in 19 matches across all competitions, scoring 3 goals, and providing 4 assists. Napoli, a historic club in Italy's Serie A, frequently utilizes such contract extensions to secure promising young talent as part of its long-term strategic development and squad stability.
