Real Madrid beat RB Leipzig 4-1 in the third round of the Champions League league phase. Head coach Jose Mourinho highlighted Federico Valverde’s performance at right-back after the match.
“Fede played very well again today. Although the score was 4-1, it was not an easy match. We could even have conceded the first goal. Fede, playing on the right flank, Arda Guler and Bernardo Silva showed creativity and worked well together,” UEFA’s official website quoted Mourinho as saying.
Bernardo Silva scored for Real Madrid in the 44th minute, followed by Arda Guler in the 52nd, Kylian Mbappe in the 83rd and Diomande in the 87th. RB Leipzig’s only goal came from Gomis in the 85th minute.
Real Madrid have collected nine points from their first three matches and sit fourth in the standings. RB Leipzig are 30th with three points.
