A fatal traffic accident involving a motorcycle occurred in Baku, resulting in the death of the driver, the Main State Traffic Police Department told Operative Information Center-OMM.
The incident took place on May 10 at approximately 06:05 AM in the Khatai district of the capital. A motorcycle with license plate 99 M 279, traveling along 8 November Avenue, veered off the road and collided with the supporting structure of an overground pedestrian bridge. As a result of the high-speed impact, the driver, identified as 26-year-old Baku resident Raul Isgandarov, died at the scene from his injuries. Law enforcement agencies have initiated a criminal case, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
Road safety remains a priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, which frequently conducts awareness campaigns to prevent high-speed accidents in the capital. 8 November Avenue is one of Baku's major arterial roads, connecting the city center with eastern districts, and has seen significant infrastructure upgrades in recent years to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety through the installation of modern overpasses and bridges.
