The government of Montenegro has released updated guidelines regarding the visa application process for Azerbaijani citizens seeking to enter the Balkan country. This information was confirmed to the Operative Information Center-OMM by Militsa Buric, head of Montenegro's diplomatic office in Azerbaijan.
According to Buric, Azerbaijani citizens must now submit their applications for both tourist and business visas through the VFS Global visa center. This centralized approach is intended to streamline the administrative process for applicants.
"The government of Montenegro has taken steps to ensure that all individuals wishing to visit or work in the country can easily apply through the VFS Global platform in Azerbaijan. Detailed information regarding the required documentation and the application procedure is available on the VFS Global Azerbaijan website," Buric emphasized.
It should be noted that Montenegro implemented a visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens starting in January 2026. Montenegro, a popular destination in the Balkans known for its Adriatic coastline and mountainous terrain, has been actively working to modernize its consular services to accommodate the growing interest from international travelers and business professionals from the South Caucasus region.
