Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with Arye Lightstone, senior advisor to the US Special Envoy for Peace Missions, to discuss the implementation of the "Trump Route" (TRIPP) project, according to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media reports, noted that the discussion focused on the ongoing peace process in the South Caucasus following the Washington Peace Summit held on August 8, 2025. Both sides emphasized the necessity of achieving lasting peace between Baku and Yerevan to fully unlock the region's economic potential.

During the talks, Mirzoyan and Lightstone explored prospects for trade and economic cooperation, specifically addressing measures to strengthen Armenia's economic and energy resilience. The TRIPP project, which aims to enhance regional connectivity and infrastructure, was a central topic of the dialogue.

"Special attention was paid to the development of regional cooperation and the utilization of existing competitive advantages. In this context, the parties reviewed the progress of the TRIPP program and confirmed their mutual interest in its swift implementation. Furthermore, they exchanged views on the most effective methods for integrating Armenia into international transport and infrastructure systems," the ministry's statement highlighted.

The TRIPP initiative is part of broader US efforts to foster economic stability and infrastructure development in the region. By facilitating better transport links and energy security, such projects are intended to support long-term regional integration and stability, aligning with the diplomatic objectives set forth by the administration of US President Donald Trump.
