Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, visited Martyrs' Alley and Victory Park in Baku on March 6 as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that a guard of honor was lined up in Victory Park in honor of the high-ranking guest. The Moldovan official laid a wreath at the Victory Monument to pay his respects. Subsequently, the guest was provided with detailed information about the park, which serves as a symbol of the heroism shown by the people of Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War and the historic victory achieved.
As part of the visit program, the minister proceeded to Martyrs' Alley, where he honored the memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Azerbaijan and laid a wreath at the "Eternal Flame" monument. At the end of the visit, the guest viewed the panorama of Baku and was briefed on the extensive landscaping and construction work being carried out in the capital.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova have seen significant strengthening in recent years, characterized by high-level reciprocal visits and cooperation within international organizations. This visit underscores the mutual respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty that defines the bilateral partnership. Martyrs' Alley, located in the capital, stands as a sacred site dedicated to those fallen during the Black January events of 1990 and the first Garabagh war, serving as a focal point for visiting foreign dignitaries to pay their respects to the nation's history.
