Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged citizens currently residing or traveling in the Middle East to closely monitor security conditions and strictly adhere to the instructions and recommendations of local authorities. Amid rising regional tensions, citizens are advised to avoid mass gatherings and significantly enhance personal security measures.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Aykhan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of the MFA, provided these details while responding to media inquiries regarding the status of Azerbaijani nationals during the current military escalation in the region.

"Regarding the evacuation of our citizens, in accordance with the travel warning shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Azerbaijan citizens currently in Iran are utilizing the land borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey to exit the country, depending on their specific location. To date, 30 citizens have successfully crossed the border into Azerbaijan. Given that the regional airspace is currently closed, a general evacuation is not planned at this stage," Hajizada added.

The current situation follows a period of heightened geopolitical instability in the Middle East, which has led several countries to issue similar travel advisories. Azerbaijan maintains a policy of prioritizing the safety of its nationals abroad, often coordinating with regional partners to ensure safe passage during periods of civil unrest or military conflict. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor the situation in Baku and remains in contact with diplomatic missions to provide necessary assistance to those in the affected zones.
