Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has arrived at Argentina’s training base. The 39-year-old will spend his final days with the national team there before his farewell match.
Argentina will face Benin overnight on Oct. 7. The match will be held at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires.
With Argentina, Messi won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Copa América in 2021 and 2024, and the 2022 Finalissima. He also won Olympic gold in 2008 and the FIFA World Youth Championship in 2005.
The Argentina captain won silver medals at the 2014 and 2026 World Cups. In the Copa América, he claimed silver in 2007, 2015 and 2016 and bronze in 2019.
