First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva participated in a high-level panel discussion titled "United for Peace in Palestine: Fighting the Destruction of the Education System and Protecting the Future" held on April 18. The event was organized as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkiye.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the participants first visited the stand of the African Culture House. This initiative, established in 2016 under the leadership of Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan, aims to promote the handiwork of African women, transform their efforts into economic value, and strengthen cultural solidarity. During the main session, which opened with a video presentation on the humanitarian situation in Palestine, speakers emphasized the strategic importance of restoring safe educational environments and strengthening support mechanisms for children affected by conflict. Emine Erdogan highlighted that the messages conveyed at the forum would serve as a beacon of hope for children victimized by wars globally, stressing the need to resolutely combat all factors that promote violence.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) serves as a significant international platform for regional and global leaders to address pressing challenges through diplomatic dialogue. Azerbaijan’s active participation in these discussions reflects the country’s commitment to international peace, humanitarian aid, and the protection of educational rights in conflict-affected regions. The focus on the destruction of the Palestinian education system underscores the long-term impact of conflict on human capital and the necessity of international cooperation for reconstruction and regional stability.
