The opening goal came in the 50th minute, when Marseille midfielder Amin Harit put his team ahead. Himad Abdelli converted a penalty in the 90+8th minute to seal the result.
After six matches, Marseille have six points and sit 13th in the standings. Troyes, with four points, are in 17th place.
Marseille will play their next match away to Angers on October 18. Troyes will host Lens a day earlier.
