Mariya Zaxarova Paşinyanı ələ saldı: "Avropa dəyərləri üzündədir"

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Maria Zakharova has issued a critical statement regarding Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Maria Zakharova shared her comments on her official Telegram channel, reacting to recent developments in Armenia.

The diplomat commented on photos of Nikol Pashinyan published by RT and remarks made by the Prime Minister to an Armenian citizen during an election campaign. Zakharova suggested that the recent diplomatic engagements involving French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Yerevan have left a visible mark on the Armenian leadership.

“The visits of Macron and Zelenskyy to Yerevan did not pass without results — ‘European values’ are evident. More precisely, they are right on their faces,” Zakharova stated, employing a sarcastic tone regarding Armenia's shifting foreign policy orientation.

The exchange comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the South Caucasus and a cooling of relations between Moscow and Yerevan. Russia has frequently criticized the Armenian government's efforts to strengthen ties with Western institutions and leaders, viewing such moves as a departure from traditional regional alliances. President Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Yerevan earlier in May to participate in the European Political Community summit, an event designed to foster political dialogue and cooperation across the continent.
