A man has been held criminally liable in Baku for sharing images of a minor girl on social media.
“Operative Information Center-OMM”, citing Qafqazinfo, reported that a criminal case was opened against Malik Mammadov, born in 2000 and a resident of the Maştağa settlement (the names and surnames are conditional), under Article 171-1 of the Criminal Code, concerning the circulation of child pornography.
The investigation found that Mammadov obtained and kept intimate images of Sudaba, 14, whom he had met on Instagram. He also asked her for and obtained the phone numbers of her relatives. After their relationship ended and the girl blocked him on social media, he used that as a pretext to send five different videos containing the images to her mother and other relatives.
The case materials were sent to the Baku Grave Crimes Court for consideration. The court sentenced Mammadov to five years in prison. He was taken into custody at the final court hearing on October 1.
