Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique said he wants to remain connected to Paris for the rest of his life. After extending his contract with the club, the Spanish coach said he felt greater pressure to win more titles.
Enrique said it meant a great deal to him when people in Paris told him, “You changed our lives.” He said it was important to know that his work affected people and to share strong emotions with fans and their families.
Asked whether he considered himself a Parisian, the coach said he needed to improve his French. He said he had struggled to speak the language in his early years and had sometimes felt at a loss. However, he said he had made progress and felt more comfortable every day. Although he is a foreigner, he said he wanted to remain connected to Paris and support the club’s culture.
According to information published by the Paris No Limit social media account, Enrique has led PSG since the summer of 2023. Under his leadership, the club has won the UEFA Champions League twice, the UEFA Super Cup once, the French league title three times and the French Super Cup once. PSG has also won two French Cups and one FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
