Lebanon's Ministry of Education and Higher Education has issued an official statement regarding the suspension of the educational process across the country due to the escalating security situation. Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media, reports that in light of life safety concerns and the current state of emergency, teaching has been temporarily halted in all public and private schools, as well as vocational and technical education institutions.

The ministry emphasized that it will monitor the development of events on a daily basis in coordination with relevant authorities and will make further decisions in accordance with public safety requirements. The statement also condemned the attacks against Lebanon and its civilian population, expressing support for citizens who have been forced to flee their homes. It was noted that many school buildings are currently being utilized as emergency shelters for displaced persons.

The suspension comes as the Israeli military launched extensive airstrikes on various regions of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, claiming to target Hezbollah positions. The Israeli side has issued warnings to residents of more than 50 villages in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, urging them to evacuate the areas immediately. This escalation marks a significant increase in regional tensions, which have seen periodic cross-border fire intensify over recent months, impacting civilian infrastructure and regional stability.
