Ceyhun Bayramov: İran Naxçıvandakı dron hadisəsini araşdırmalıdır

Azerbaijan expects a comprehensive investigation into the incident involving Iran's UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) strikes on Nakhchivan and hopes the opposing side will fulfill its guarantees to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) that Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov made this statement during a consultative meeting of foreign ministers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Jeyhun Bayramov reminded the meeting participants that on March 5, UAVs launched from Iranian territory struck infrastructure in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The attack resulted in injuries to four civilians and caused significant damage to critical infrastructure, including the Nakhchivan International Airport.

The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is an exclave of Azerbaijan that shares a long border with Iran. Ensuring the security of this region is a priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan, especially given its strategic importance and the presence of vital transport hubs. This incident marks a serious breach of regional stability, prompting Baku to call for strict adherence to international legal norms and bilateral security protocols to ensure the safety of civilian populations and international aviation facilities.
