Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with Jose Manuel Albares Bueno, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, to discuss regional security concerns.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told Operative Information Center-OMM that the ministers exchanged views on the current tense security situation and military escalation in the Middle East region. Both parties emphasized the critical importance of maintaining regional stability and highlighted the role of diplomatic channels and political dialogue in preventing further escalation of tensions.

During the conversation, the ministers also addressed the safety of foreign nationals in the escalation zone. They discussed potential cooperation regarding the evacuation of Spanish citizens from Iran through the territory of Azerbaijan should the need arise. This coordination underscores Azerbaijan's strategic role as a regional transit hub and its commitment to international humanitarian cooperation during crises.

Azerbaijan and Spain maintain active diplomatic relations, frequently engaging in dialogue regarding both bilateral cooperation and broader regional security issues. As a key partner in the South Caucasus, Azerbaijan often serves as a bridge for international logistics and evacuation efforts, leveraging its stable infrastructure and strategic geographical position between Europe and Asia.
