Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan of the Republic of Türkiye held a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral and regional issues.

The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that during the call, the ministers discussed cooperation within the framework of bilateral allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, joint efforts within international organizations and multilateral platforms, as well as the regional security situation.

Furthermore, the sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and other issues of mutual interest. The ministers emphasized the importance of continued coordination between Baku and Ankara to ensure stability in the South Caucasus and the broader region.

The strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye is based on the Shusha Declaration signed in 2021, which elevated the relationship to an official alliance. This cooperation covers various sectors, including defense, energy, and transport, particularly the development of the Middle Corridor. Regular consultations between the two foreign ministries serve to align the foreign policy priorities of both nations regarding global geopolitical challenges.
