Israeli forces raided several areas across the occupied West Bank early Wednesday and arrested at least two Palestinians, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported.
Israeli forces also damaged Palestinian property and vehicles during the raids. In Beit Duqqu, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, 10 military jeeps entered the village as troops searched several homes and detained a number of residents. The number and identities of those detained were not immediately known.
Raids reported in several West Bank areas
In Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah, troops searched a home and arrested a 19-year-old Palestinian. Forces also raided Tubas and the nearby town of Aqaba in the northern West Bank, searching homes and deploying infantry units in several neighbourhoods.
Israeli forces raided Janata and Aida refugee camp, east and north of Bethlehem, respectively. No arrests were reported there.
In the northern Tulkarem area, troops entered Attil and Deir al-Ghusun with several military vehicles and infantry units. Local sources said soldiers patrolled the towns, searched homes and damaged their contents. Residents of several homes were subjected to field questioning and interrogation amid a heavy military presence.
A Palestinian man was also arrested at his home in Deir al-Ghusun, according to local sources.
Property damaged in Masafer Yatta
In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, Israeli forces damaged property in Khirbet Aqawwis early Wednesday. The incident came a day after a workers’ vehicle was set on fire near Umm Qussa village in the Yatta countryside after its occupants were chased.
WAFA, citing local sources, said similar attacks had been repeated in recent days and months as part of ongoing assaults targeting Palestinians and their property in Masafer Yatta.
The occupied West Bank has seen an escalation in Israeli raids and arrests since October 2023, alongside increased attacks, movement restrictions and closures at the entrances to Palestinian towns and villages.
