Israeli forces deployed snipers on residential rooftops and opened fire indiscriminately during a ground incursion into a village in southern Syria early Thursday, Syrian media reported. Anadolu Agency reported the incident.
Israeli troops entered Jamlah village in the western countryside of Daraa province and searched several houses, according to “Alikhbariah TV”. The broadcaster said the forces also fired indiscriminately in residential neighborhoods.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
The incursion came a day after Israeli tanks shelled the outskirts of Abidin village in western Daraa on Wednesday, “Alikhbariah TV” reported.
Israeli forces have carried out repeated incursions into southern Syria since Bashar al-Assad’s fall in December 2024. Israel declared the 1974 disengagement agreement void and seized the Syrian buffer zone.
