An Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has reportedly targeted medical teams in the Nabatieh region of southern Lebanon, according to reports from the National News Agency.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the strike specifically targeted ambulances belonging to the Islamic Health Organization, Bayt al-Talaba, and the Islamic Risala Scouts.
While the attack resulted in damage to the emergency vehicles, authorities are currently working to verify whether there were any casualties among the medical personnel. The situation in the Nabatieh region remains tense following the incident.
The Nabatieh region, located in southern Lebanon, has been a frequent flashpoint in the ongoing cross-border hostilities. International humanitarian law, specifically the Geneva Conventions, provides special protections for medical personnel and vehicles during armed conflicts, prohibiting attacks against them unless they are being used for military purposes outside their humanitarian function.
