Iranian security forces have carried out a preemptive strike against terrorist groups attempting to infiltrate the country's western borders.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic of Iran released an official statement regarding the operation. According to the ministry, the joint operation was conducted in coordination with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to thwart planned incursions into Iranian territory.

The ministry stated that "terrorist separatist groups, supported by American-Zionist enemies and exploiting the current military situation, planned to penetrate the country's western borders to carry out terrorist attacks in urban and border areas. However, as a result of a joint preventive operation by the Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a significant portion of these mercenaries' positions has been destroyed."

The western border regions of Iran have historically seen intermittent clashes between Iranian security forces and various militant groups. These areas, bordering Iraq and Turkey, are often monitored closely due to the activities of separatist organizations. This latest operation follows a pattern of heightened security measures in the region aimed at maintaining internal stability and preventing cross-border militancy. Iranian officials frequently attribute such unrest to foreign interference, emphasizing the role of intelligence agencies in neutralizing threats before they reach major population centers.
