Iran has announced its readiness to resume negotiations with the United States, provided that Washington shifts its approach toward Tehran.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Washington must recognize that its policy of pressure on Tehran has proven ineffective. In a post on the X social media platform, the minister noted that it is possible to steer diplomacy back onto the right track.

According to Araghchi, for this to occur, the United States must take steps to build trust, engage with Iran on the basis of mutual respect, recognize the country's rights, and fulfill its international obligations. The Iranian minister emphasized that if Washington takes these steps, the resumption of diplomatic contacts would be possible.

This development follows recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who previously indicated that his administration had no intention of engaging in talks with Iran. Speaking to reporters at the White House, President Trump stated, "We are not planning to meet or take any similar steps," citing a lack of interest in dialogue with Tehran amid current regional tensions.

The relationship between Washington and Tehran has been characterized by decades of diplomatic estrangement and economic sanctions. The potential for renewed dialogue remains a focal point of international geopolitics, as both nations navigate complex issues ranging from nuclear non-proliferation to regional security dynamics in the Middle East.
