Georgia remains fully committed to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the New Urban Agenda, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced during the Leaders' Summit at the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Prime Minister emphasized that Georgia is prepared to further strengthen cooperation with international partners. He highlighted the importance of promoting safe, inclusive, and resilient human settlements for both current and future generations as a core priority for the Georgian government.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. WUF13 serves as a critical platform for world leaders, urban planners, and civil society to address the challenges of rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, economies, and the environment. Georgia's active participation in the forum underscores its strategic focus on aligning national urban policies with international standards to ensure sustainable and balanced regional development.
