Illegal weapons and ammunition seized in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani police officers seized a significant cache of illegally possessed firearms and ammunition during operations conducted in the capital and various regions of the republic on April 7. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the seized weaponry included 4 automatic rifles, 1 machine gun, 3 grenades, 12 shotguns, 11 ammunition magazines, and 459 cartridges of various calibers.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the MIA confirmed these items were taken into evidence as part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that operational and preventive measures aimed at detecting and seizing illegally held firearms are continuing across Azerbaijan.

The Republic of Azerbaijan maintains strict regulations regarding the possession of firearms, and the MIA regularly conducts such sweeps to prevent criminal activity and enhance national security. These measures are part of a broader strategy by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to maintain stability and public order in both urban centers like Baku and the country's regional districts.
