İlham Əliyev Ermənistana gedəcək? - Ceyhun Bayramov açıqladı

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has clarified whether President Ilham Aliyev will participate in the upcoming European Political Community (EPC) Summit scheduled to take place in Armenia.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the minister made these remarks to journalists while visiting the "Mother's Cry" monument on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. He noted that the European Political Community events do not provide for representation at various levels other than the heads of state.

The MFA head further explained the situation: "According to the information I have, the participation of the President of Azerbaijan in the European Political Community Summit to be held in Armenia in May is not planned. Representation here is only at the level of heads of state; that is how this format was established." Jeyhun Bayramov concluded by emphasizing: "Based on the information available to me, a visit by President Ilham Aliyev to Armenia in May is not intended."

The European Political Community is an intergovernmental forum for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe, established in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. While the platform aims to foster political dialogue and cooperation to address issues of common interest and strengthen the security and stability of the European continent, diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia remain complex due to the decades-long conflict and the ongoing post-conflict normalization process. Azerbaijan continues to advocate for a peace treaty based on the principles of international law and mutual recognition of territorial integrity.
