Mohamed Abdelsalam, secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Elders, presented the certificate for the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a meeting on September 14.

President Ilham Aliyev received the 2026 award in recognition of his efforts to achieve peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Under the terms of the award, the President of Azerbaijan will receive $500,000.
President Ilham Aliyev has decided to transfer the full amount to the Garabagh Revival Fund.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity recognizes individuals and organizations that promote human solidarity, peaceful coexistence and cooperation across religious and cultural communities. The Garabagh Revival Fund supports reconstruction, sustainable development and the restoration of infrastructure in Garabagh.
