Azerbaijan has consistently supported the resolution of the Palestine issue based on the "two-state" principle in accordance with the unanimous position of the League of Arab States.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks while receiving a delegation led by the President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi.

President Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction his participation in the Middle East Peace Summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh at the invitation of US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He further noted that Azerbaijan was invited to the Peace Council and emphasized the country's determination to contribute to the peace process.

The head of state underlined that the development of relations with Muslim countries, including Arab nations, remains one of the priority directions in Azerbaijan's foreign policy. He noted that Baku continues to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation within international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement.

Azerbaijan has historically maintained strong diplomatic and cultural ties with the Arab world, frequently hosting high-level forums and supporting humanitarian initiatives in the region. The country's involvement in the Sharm el-Sheikh process highlights its growing role as a mediator and a reliable partner in international diplomacy, seeking to foster stability and security across the Middle East and the South Caucasus.
