President Ilham Aliyev has recommended that international participants of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) visit the Sea Breeze resort and the Baku White City project, highlighting them as prime examples of Azerbaijan's modern urban development. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum in Baku, the head of state emphasized the transformation of the capital's infrastructure.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev reflected on the environmental rehabilitation of the capital, noting that the area now known as Baku White City was once a heavily polluted industrial zone. "Previously, this area was called the 'Black City' due to pollution. Now, we have created the White City, which serves as a model of modern urban planning," the President stated. He further pointed to the Sea Breeze resort on the Caspian coast as another significant manifestation of the country's urban growth, encouraging guests to experience the coastal development firsthand.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. By hosting WUF13, Azerbaijan underscores its commitment to sustainable development and urban renewal. The Baku White City project is one of the world's largest urban redevelopment initiatives on land formerly occupied by the oil industry, while Sea Breeze represents a major investment in the country's tourism and residential infrastructure along the Absheron Peninsula.
