President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a high-level delegation from the US Chamber of Commerce on February 9, led by Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President for International Member Relations, Middle East, and Turkey.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the delegation included Jennifer Miel, Vice President for the Middle East, Central Asia, and Turkey, along with senior executives from global giants such as Apple, Meta, Visa, ExxonMobil, Boeing, Google, and bp, among others. The meeting focused on expanding bilateral economic ties and exploring new investment opportunities in Azerbaijan's rapidly diversifying economy.

Welcoming the guests, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is entering a promising new phase of bilateral relations with the United States. He noted that the visit is particularly significant as it coincides with a period of active development in strategic cooperation. The President highlighted that while energy remains a cornerstone of the partnership, the current agenda is increasingly focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and the non-oil sector.

During the discussions, President Ilham Aliyev referenced his recent meetings with US President Donald Trump, including their talks in Davos and the signing of a document on the preparation of the Strategic Partnership Charter in Washington. The President noted that US President Donald Trump's administration pursues a realistic policy that supports global energy security. He further outlined Azerbaijan's potential as a green energy hub, mentioning plans to reach 7-8 gigawatts of solar and wind power by 2032.

Khush Choksy thanked the President for the invitation, noting that 60 representatives from 31 major US companies traveled to Baku for this mission. Representatives from bp and Visa also expressed their commitment to long-term partnership, citing Azerbaijan's stable investment climate and skilled workforce. The meeting concluded with President Ilham Aliyev inviting US firms to participate in the TRIPP project (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) and other regional logistics initiatives following the restoration of peace in the region.

The US Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business organization, representing the interests of more than three million businesses of all sizes. Such high-level trade missions to Baku serve to strengthen the economic bridge between the Caspian region and Western markets, facilitating technology transfer and direct foreign investment into Azerbaijan's infrastructure and digital landscape.
