President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and other heads of state participating in the informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) took part in an online groundbreaking ceremony for the Turkic Civilization Center on May 15.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the heads of state were briefed on the details of the upcoming center. The project is dedicated to the preservation, study, and promotion of the rich historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage of the Turkic peoples. Designed to meet the highest international standards, the center aims to demonstrate that Turkic civilization is a major global force with a unique place in world history, characterized by deep philosophy and long-standing traditions of statehood.
Following the ceremony, a presentation on "GovTech" digital solutions was held, where guests were informed about ongoing artificial intelligence development projects in Kazakhstan. Officials emphasized the significant potential for expanding cooperation among Turkic states in the fields of digitalization and high technology.
The establishment of the Turkic Civilization Center comes as the Organization of Turkic States continues to strengthen its institutional framework and cultural integration. Since its transformation from a cooperation council to a full-fledged organization, the OTS has prioritized the unification of the Turkic world through joint educational, cultural, and economic initiatives, fostering a collective identity among member nations including Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
