Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of the United States in the South Caucasus region.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs at the Presidential Administration, said this in an interview with NewsMax.
According to him, US President Donald Trump's efforts to achieve peace between Baku and Yerevan have changed the strategic landscape of the South Caucasus and opened a new chapter in relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.
"President Donald Trump and President Ilham Aliyev have proposed a new chapter in the strategic partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan and agreed to prepare a new memorandum on strategic partnership between the two countries," Hajiyev said.
The South Caucasus is a strategically important region linking Europe and Asia, with developments there affecting regional security, transport connectivity and energy cooperation. Azerbaijan and the United States have maintained cooperation in areas including energy, security and regional connectivity.
