Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov has secured a bronze medal at the Grand Slam tournament held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that competing in the 73kg weight category, the athlete defeated Spanish representative Anton Shukhaliyev in the decisive match for third place to claim his spot on the podium.
This victory follows a successful performance by the national team earlier in the competition. On the previous day of the tournament, Turan Bayramov, competing in the 66kg weight class, earned a silver medal for Azerbaijan. The Tbilisi Grand Slam is a prestigious event on the International Judo Federation (IJF) World Tour, attracting top-tier athletes globally as they compete for critical ranking points ahead of major international championships.
