The Azerbaijani Army has modern weapons, ammunition and military equipment in its arsenal.
Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov said this in an address to participants of the ADEX-2026 exhibition, according to the “Operative Information Center-OMM”, citing the Ministry of Defense.
The address said:
“Dear exhibition participants, dear guests!
I welcome you to the 6th ADEX-2026 Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition and wish success to the representatives of all countries represented at the exhibition for accepting our invitation.
We are confident that the 6th ADEX-2026 Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition, held in Azerbaijan, will create broad opportunities for demonstrating the military potential of participating countries, signing new contracts and discussing joint projects.
I believe that, in addition to serving as an important platform for exchanging experience in the production of advanced technologies and assessing prospects in defense and security, this exhibition will contribute to the development of existing military-technical cooperation and the implementation of new initiatives and joint projects.
Azerbaijan is always open to international cooperation aimed at protecting security and sustainable peace and strengthening its defense capabilities, and is interested in deepening partnerships in this area. Ensuring stability in the region and the security of large-scale economic projects is a priority for our country.
As you know, the rapid development of science and technological progress is gradually replacing traditional methods of defense with new approaches. Contactless operations conducted using innovative solutions and high-precision weapons are fundamentally changing the nature of military tasks. Neural networks, laser-based technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles for various purposes and unmanned systems controlled by artificial intelligence require a completely different approach to states’ defense concepts.
The challenges of our time and the combat experience gained have made possessing military equipment and hardware produced on the basis of advanced technologies an essential condition for maintaining stability. In this regard, the Republic of Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to expanding the operational capabilities of our Army, renewing its material and technical base, and equipping it with the most modern weapons systems.
Naturally, the introduction of innovations also requires the continuous improvement of servicemen’s knowledge and skills. Consistent measures are being taken to bring personnel training into line with the requirements of the times, study the experience of advanced armies and participate in joint exercises. At the same time, our military specialists analyze the characteristics of combat equipment used in global conflicts and examine opportunities for applying it in local conditions.
It is an undeniable fact that the main reason for the successes achieved in recent years is the special attention paid to army building by President and Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. The introduction into our arsenal of military equipment meeting the world’s highest technical standards, as well as the professional training of personnel, is being carried out in stages through reforms implemented under the direct supervision of the head of state.
I would like to state with pride that, thanks to the high care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, as well as the continued support of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, our Army’s armament includes modern weapons, ammunition and military equipment developed on the basis of the latest technical specifications and digital innovations available worldwide.
The victories achieved in the Patriotic War and subsequent operations are a clear example of the successfully implemented reforms in army building.
Speaking about the capabilities of Azerbaijan’s defense industry, I would also like to note that our country has considerable potential in this field. Our enterprises produce more than 1,000 types of competitive defense products for the global market, including weapons, ammunition and unmanned systems. At the same time, the overhaul and modernization of armored vehicles and aviation equipment are being successfully carried out.
The holding of the 6th ADEX-2026 Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition in our country is highly important for discussing technical solutions and becoming familiar with the innovations displayed. At the same time, such events are an important platform presenting Azerbaijan as a reliable strategic partner.
The strong interest shown in the exhibition by foreign institutions and business circles confirms its global standing. Such exhibitions, which contribute to the development of the defense industry, also help identify new opportunities for cooperation.
I believe that the exhibition will open new prospects for military-technical cooperation among participating countries, strengthen friendly relations and create conditions for improving the innovative technological base.
I am confident that the discussions held during ADEX-2026 will create favorable conditions for deepening mutual cooperation among countries and make an important contribution to the development of the defense sector and the establishment of sustainable peace and security around the world.
