The winner of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix held in Baku has been presented with the race trophy.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Mercedes’ British driver George Russell took the top step of the podium. Red Bull’s Dutch driver Max Verstappen finished second, while his teammate Isack Hadjar placed third.
The awards were presented by Anar Alakbarov, president of the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation; Farid Gayibov, minister of youth and sports; and Mohammed Ben Sulayem, president of the International Automobile Federation.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is one of the major international sporting events held in Baku. The race is staged on a street circuit that runs through the capital’s central areas and is known for its combination of tight turns and high-speed sections.
