Gazanfər Abdullayev has been dismissed as chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Council of Trade Unions.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the council held a meeting on October 7 and considered the dismissal of its chairman.
Under the decision, Abdullayev was removed from the post, and deputy chairwoman Khatira Ibrahimli was assigned to perform the duties until a new appointment is made.
Abdullayev had earlier been stripped of his mandate as a member of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The Council of Trade Unions is the body representing trade unions in Nakhchivan. The report did not provide further details about the reasons for Abdullayev’s dismissal or the timing of a permanent replacement.
