Turkish football powerhouse Galatasaray has added 17-year-old midfielder Rudi Matondo, who currently plays for French club Auxerre, to its transfer shortlist.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, the French-Congolese footballer is attracting significant interest from the Istanbul giants as well as Paris FC. Additionally, Ligue 1 side Strasbourg is among the clubs closely monitoring the young talent's development.
Matondo is a member of the France U-18 national team, having earned three caps for the youth squad. The promising midfielder has already gained top-flight experience this season, appearing in 16 matches in Ligue 1. According to Transfermarkt data, Matondo's current contract with Auxerre runs until June 2028, and his market value is estimated at 3 million euros.
Galatasaray's interest in Matondo aligns with the club's recent strategy of investing in high-potential young players to bolster its squad for both domestic competition and European campaigns. As one of the most successful clubs in Turkish football history, Galatasaray frequently scouts the French market, which is renowned for producing elite technical talent. The potential acquisition of Matondo would represent a long-term investment for the "Lions" as they look to maintain their dominance in the Turkish Super Lig.
