Independent researcher and journalist Natasha Rey, known for controversial claims about Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, has died.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Rey’s death was announced on the “X” page of her colleague, journalist Xavier Poussard.
According to Poussard, Natasha Rey had battled a long-term cancer illness in recent years.
Natasha Rey became known for controversial claims about Brigitte Macron’s gender. The claims she publicized led the French president’s wife to take legal action.
In September 2024, a Paris court found Natasha Rey guilty of defamation and fined her 13,500 euros. However, in July 2025, the Paris Court of Appeal overturned the ruling and fully acquitted Rey.
