According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Round of 16 match took place at the stadium in Philadelphia. The contest was officiated by FIFA referee Ilgiz Tantashev from Uzbekistan.

The match concluded with a narrow 1-0 win for the French national team. The decisive moment occurred in the 70th minute when Kylian Mbappe successfully converted a penalty kick, which was awarded following a foul.

With this result, France secures its spot in the next stage of the tournament, where they are set to face Morocco in the quarterfinals. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marks the first time the tournament features 48 teams, significantly expanding the scale of the global competition.
