The Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan has conducted a targeted operation at the Air Transport Customs Office.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from the Unikal news portal, the operation resulted in the detention of four customs officials suspected of involvement in corrupt activities.
Among those detained were two female employees, identified as Aysel and Khalida. Preliminary reports indicate that one of the detained individuals was released following an initial interrogation and the provision of a statement.
The Air Transport Customs Office, which operates under the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, is responsible for regulating customs procedures at the country's international airports, including Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. Anti-corruption measures in state institutions are part of a broader, ongoing government initiative in Azerbaijan to enhance transparency, improve public service efficiency, and combat administrative malpractice across all sectors of the civil service.
