Four more Azerbaijani judoka will begin competing at the world championships in Baku. Hanna Zaytseva will compete in the 63kg category, while Vusal Galandarzada, Zelim Tchkaev and Omar Rajabli will compete in the 81kg category.
Zaytseva will face the winner of the round-of-32 bout between Pei Chun Yuan of Chinese Taipei and Anna Kriza of Hungary in the round of 16. Galandarzada will meet Bulgaria’s Hristo Valkov in the round of 64.
Tchkaev’s opponent in the round of 16 will be the winner of the match between Timothy Meuwsen of South Africa and Victor Sterpu of Moldova. At the same stage, Rajabli will face the winner of the bout between Sibghatullah Arab (IRT) and Mahamadou Doucara of Mali.
The preliminary rounds will begin at 10:30, and the final block is scheduled to start at 18:00. The world championships, held at the National Gymnastics Arena, will conclude on October 11.
Among Azerbaijan’s representatives, Ahmad Yusifov has won gold in the 60kg category, while Rashid Mammadaliyev has claimed bronze in the 73kg category.
