The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested a former officer of the US Special Operations Command for allegedly leaking classified information to a member of the media.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the announcement was made by FBI Director Kash Patel. The arrest follows an investigation into the unauthorized disclosure of national defense information, highlighting the administration's strict stance on internal security and the protection of state secrets.

"Let this serve as a warning to potential whistleblowers: We investigate such cases and we make arrests. The FBI will not tolerate those who attempt to betray our country and put Americans at risk," Patel stated. While official details remain limited, the leaked information is believed to be related to a sensitive operation involving the recovery or location of a US Air Force pilot in Iran.

This development comes amid heightened security protocols under the administration of US President Donald Trump, who has emphasized the importance of national loyalty and the rigorous prosecution of intelligence leaks. The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), where the suspect was previously stationed, oversees the various Special Operations Components of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force, handling some of the most classified missions in the US military apparatus.
