Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov meets with Russian presidential aide

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has held a meeting with Ruslan Edelgeriyev, Aide to the President of Russia and Special Presidential Representative for Climate Issues.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported that the discussions centered on bilateral cooperation in combating climate change, COP-related matters, and various regional and international topics of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the Russian official on the experience gained and results achieved by Azerbaijan during its COP-29 Presidency. He also highlighted the country's ongoing close cooperation with Australia, which will hold the COP-31 Presidency, and Turkey, the host nation.

The parties also addressed bilateral cooperation regarding the Caspian Sea, emphasizing the importance of intensifying the activities of the established bilateral Working Group. The discussion underscored the necessity of preserving the Caspian Sea's water resources and its unique ecosystem. In this context, the sides highlighted the significance of implementing innovative technologies and launching joint projects, particularly within the agricultural sector.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other bilateral issues of mutual interest, further strengthening the diplomatic dialogue between Baku and Moscow on environmental and regional security matters.
