Fenerbahce beat Besiktas to retain Turkish Presidential Cup

Fenerbahce Tarfin defeated Besiktas 72-59 on Tuesday in Istanbul to retain the Turkish Men's Presidential Cup, according to the tournament report.

Fenerbahce took control late in the opening quarter at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, producing an 11-0 run to establish a double-digit lead before ending the period 21-10.

Fenerbahce build commanding first-half lead

The “Yellow Canaries” extended their advantage in the second quarter as Besiktas struggled with its three-point shooting. Fenerbahce went into halftime leading 46-27.

Besiktas responded after the interval with a 5-0 run and reduced the deficit to 12 points by the end of the third quarter, when the score stood at 58-46.

Fenerbahce hold off Besiktas comeback

The “Black-and-Whites” moved within eight points early in the final period, but Fenerbahce answered with six consecutive points and remained in control to seal the 72-59 victory.

Wade Baldwin led Fenerbahce with 13 points and six assists. Braxton Key scored 11 points, while Shavon Shields added 10.

Jaylen Nowell top-scored for Besiktas with 13 points, and Devon Dotson contributed nine.

The victory marked Fenerbahce’s ninth Presidential Cup title and its second in succession.
