“An image of a letter claiming that the Ministry of Health had imposed restrictions on wearing hijab in medical facilities is circulating on social media and messaging platforms.”

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the statement was made in a joint announcement by the Media and Broadcasting Council and the Ministry of Health.

“The letter in question is fake. The Ministry of Health has not issued such a document, nor has it given medical facilities instructions to that effect. Presenting the fake document as genuine official correspondence is misinformation that misleads the public.

The Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan calls on media outlets and social media users to verify information against official sources, refrain from sharing the fake document as genuine, and avoid becoming a conduit for the spread of misinformation,” the statement said.
