An extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan is set to be convened. Today, the parliament is holding the final plenary meeting of its regular spring session.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, members of the Milli Majlis have officially addressed an appeal to the speaker of the parliament to initiate the extraordinary session to address pending legislative matters.
An extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis is a special legislative period convened during the parliamentary recess between the spring and autumn sessions. This mechanism is utilized to promptly address urgent matters of state importance. Under the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an extraordinary session can be convened at the request of either the President of Azerbaijan or 42 members of the parliament.
