“The European Union is working with Türkiye, India and other partners to reach an agreement on ensuring safe navigation in the Black Sea.”
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas made the remarks.
“We are currently working with our international partners, Türkiye, India and other countries, including African food-importing states and countries of the Global South, to advance an agreement on freedom of navigation in the Black Sea,” she said.
Kallas said an agreement on Black Sea shipping would help protect lives and vital cargo.
She said Ukraine had also proposed a similar initiative, but Moscow rejected it.
“Therefore, diplomatic engagement must continue alongside sustained pressure on Moscow and support for Ukraine,” the EU official stressed.
