Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Mohamed al-Menfi, chairman of Libya’s Presidential Council, in New York on Monday, according to the Anadolu Agency.
The two leaders are attending the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. They held their meeting behind closed doors at the Turkevi Center, also known as the Turkish House, located across from the UN headquarters.
No details about the discussions had been released at the time of reporting.
Türkiye attaches great importance to the security and welfare of the Libyan people, citing the two countries’ historical and cultural ties.
